Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lead Custodian to oversee the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of our facilities. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of custodial staff, including cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance tasks across all facility areas
- Develop work schedules, assign duties, and monitor performance to ensure timely completion of cleaning projects
- Train team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety regulations, and sanitation procedures aligned with industry standards
- Conduct inspections to verify cleanliness, safety compliance, and adherence to sanitation protocols in all areas including industrial kitchens, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; ensure proper storage and usage according to safety guidelines
- Enforce safety regulations and best practices to maintain a secure environment for staff and building occupants
- Collaborate with management to implement improvements in cleaning & sanitation management processes and address any facility concerns promptly
Experience
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a strong background in commercial or industrial cleaning environments
- Supervising experience leading teams of custodial staff or similar personnel in fast-paced settings
- Demonstrated knowledge of sanitation standards, safety regulations, and cleaning & sanitation management practices
- Experience managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective managerial communication and customer service interactions
- Prior experience in hospitality or healthcare settings is a plus but not required
