American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Longview, TX, requiring active TX or compact RN licensure and key emergency certifications.

Work setting is a hospital Emergency Care Center (ECC)

Night shift schedule: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
-
3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift
-
13-week contract
-
Active RN license in TX or through a compact state
-
Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
-
Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
-
Current PALS certification required (AHA only)

Current TNCC certification required
-
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred

BSN preferred

US Social Security Number required for consideration

2 professional references required for consideration

All certifications must be active and non-expired

Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education

Makes assignments and delegates to other care providers as appropriate
-
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed both organizationally and department-specifically

All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position
