Job Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor supports daily kitchen operations by overseeing staff, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and ensuring efficient service during shifts. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Delegating the kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation in a timely manner
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (HACCP, local health regulations)
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely accurate service
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
- Reporting supply needs, and any concerns to management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Bring Creativity to the Menu and Specials
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with a diverse team
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Culinary training or certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to [50] lbs
- Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
