Full job description
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Peacock Mental Health · Tucson, Arizona (Hybrid ) · W2 Full-Time
$110K–$175K and generous benefits
Why this role is different
Most psychiatric practices ask you to see more patients, chart faster, and figure out the admin on your own time. We've built this role the other way around.
- 15-minute paid admin time: built into every appointment, not squeezed in after hours. In addition, a daily 30 minute team connect, to support collaboration.
- Prior auth support: Our dedicated support team handles prior authorizations, insurance correspondence, and billing so you can stay focused on clinical care.
- Interventional Psychiatry: Peacock built our reputation through transformational client outcomes. We provide both Spravato and TMS to enable more treatment options for your clients.
About the role
Peacock Mental Health is Tucson's premier destination for affirming, neurodivergent-informed, and LGBTQIA+-centered psychiatric care. We're looking for an experienced, compassionate PMHNP to join our in-person team. Someone who wants to go deep on complex presentations and develop genuine subspecialty expertise, not just manage a high-volume caseload.
You'll oversee Spravato treatments, provide TMS treatments, and carry a dedicated caseload. Your emphasis will be on strong therapeutic relationships, evidence-based care, and measurable outcomes. You'll become a recognized clinical voice in late-diagnosis Autism, treatment-resistant depression, and advanced interventional psychiatry. Multi-session adult Autism assessments, and supporting many late-diagnosed clients, builds the kind of specialization that defines a career.
Note: We also offer opportunities to support late-diagnosed adults through multi-session assessments.
What you'll do
- Conduct detailed psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and add-on psychotherapy
- Support neurodivergent-affirming care, including assessments for adults as needed.
- Manage Spravato (esketamine) and TMS treatment protocols and support client safety during sessions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Document using 15 minutes of paid administrative time per appointment, built into the schedule
- Participate in ongoing specialty and clinical skills training
Schedule
This is a 4×10-hour shift structure on a predictable, set schedule — the same two weeks repeat, so you can plan your life outside work.
Evening and Saturday hours are compensated with generous shift differentials.
The team meets daily for 30 minutes after lunch.
What we offer
Compensation
- $110K–$175K
- Generous shift differentials for evening and Saturday hours
- 401(k) with set company contribution (no match required to be eligible)
- 401(k) profit share potential contribution tied to both individual performance and practice growth
Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- PTO, sick leave, and paid federal holidays
- Paid parental leave
- License and DEA renewal costs covered
- Malpractice insurance renewal covered
Clinical support
- Paid onboarding and specialty training in LGBTQIA+-affirming and neurodivergent-informed care
- Dedicated support team for scheduling, prior authorizations, and billing, supporting your focus on patients
- Decorated office with in-house Art Gallery, designed for client and practitioner well-being
- Sustainable caseload design with genuine attention to burnout prevention
- Ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities
Who you are
You're looking to deepen work with treatment-resistant adults, and a place to build a meaningful career. You care deeply about clients who've often been misunderstood or underserved by the mental health system, and you want a practice that reflects that commitment.
- Licensed PMHNP in Arizona with current board certification
- 1 year of independent outpatient clinical experience as a PMHNP preferred; candidates with less experience may be asked for additional references.
- Comfortable working a set schedule that includes evenings and alternating Saturdays
- Passionate about client-centered, affirming psychiatric care
- Interested in developing advanced expertise in Spravato and TMS
- Open-minded, adaptable, and aligned with a mission to make care authentic, inclusive, and outcome-focused
