Job Summary

Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in diverse clinical settings such as dermatology clinics, urgent care centers, and hospital wards
- Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and documenting symptoms using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens following proper protocols to ensure accurate testing results
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision while adhering to safety guidelines and pharmacology best practices
- Support medical documentation efforts by maintaining detailed and compliant medical records, including ICD coding for diagnoses
- Manage patient intake processes efficiently, ensuring smooth flow of patient visits from check-in to discharge
- Assist with medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing EMR/EHR systems, and maintaining inventory of supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and health maintenance strategies to promote positive health outcomes
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required
- Proven experience in outpatient or inpatient medical settings with strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems (Electronic Health Records) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) management software
- Knowledge of dermatology procedures, hospital medicine practices, urgent care protocols, and emergency medicine is highly desirable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory to ensure patient safety during emergencies
- Familiarity with ICD coding, pharmacology principles, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation standards
- Ability to perform phlebotomy accurately and efficiently while maintaining patient comfort
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery
- Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, intake procedures, and administrative tasks
- Inpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus; OR experience also valued for surgical support roles
- Knowledge of geriatrics and outpatient care environments enhances versatility in supporting diverse patient populations
