A well-established transportation company in Central New Jersey with a growing fleet is seeking an energetic, motivated, and hands-on-leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the team. This position is not intended for someone who simply delegates tasks from behind a desk. The Lead Mechanic is expected to take an active role in diagnosing and repairing vehicles, mentoring technicians, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, and ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, and operational.
The ideal candidate leads by example, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and is willing to do whatever is necessary to keep the shop running efficiently. They should be proactive, organized, and able to balance supervisory responsibilities with hands-on mechanical work in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude, strong sense of accountability, and commitment to teamwork are essential.
