Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time or Full-Time Pharmacist in Charge in Vienna, GA! This exciting role offers flexibility with options to work four or five days a week, providing an energetic environment where your leadership and clinical expertise will make a meaningful difference. As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional patient care. Duties
- Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality patient service
- Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and medication administration protocols
- Manage inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure medication safety and efficacy
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, state and federal pharmacy laws, and safety standards such as aseptic technique and medical management protocols
- Conduct patient assessments, provide immunizations, and deliver clinical pharmacy services including pain management and medication therapy reviews
- Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient care activities accurately
- Facilitate patient care initiatives such as immunizations, IV infusions, and medication administration while maintaining sterile techniques and physiology knowledge
Experience
- Proven experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings with a strong background in acute care environments
- Critical care experience preferred, with familiarity in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology to support complex patient needs
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience demonstrating advanced patient service skills
- Hands-on experience with compounding medications, IV insertion, IV infusion therapy, and aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management
- Prior roles involving inventory management, medication safety protocols, and HIPAA compliance are highly valued
- Experience working with pharmacy software platforms and supporting pharmacy technician teams to optimize workflow
