Quality Staffing is seeking an experienced Telephone Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Pulmonary Engagement Center team in Durham, NC. This is a fast-paced, high-volume triage call center environment supporting adult patients with pulmonary, allergy, and rheumatology needs.
The ideal candidate will have recent telephone triage experience, exceptional clinical assessment skills, and the ability to efficiently manage large call volumes while delivering outstanding patient care.
Position Responsibilities
- Answer and manage approximately 120-150 live patient calls daily
- Respond to patient portal messages and in-basket communications
- Process prescription refill requests
- Perform telephone nursing assessments and clinical triage
- Provide patient education and follow-up care instructions
- Escalate urgent concerns appropriately
- Document all patient interactions in Epic
- Collaborate with providers, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams
- Assist with rheumatology triage coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN License or Compact RN License
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telephone Triage RN experience
- Experience using Epic EMR
- Ability to type 40 WPM
- Ambulatory/clinic nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred

- Trauma Level I or II experience

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
