About Tellegacy
Tellegacy LLC is a health promotion and intergenerational engagement organization focused on reducing social isolation and loneliness among older adults, strengthening human connection, and helping communities elevate what matters most in people’s lives. Through structured intergenerational programs, Legacy Book development, community engagement, training, and research-informed practice, Tellegacy supports older adults, students, care teams, and community partners.
The Tellegacy Advisory Board functions as a think tank, mastermind, and health-promotion support board. Board members help strengthen the organization’s direction, visibility, community impact, research relevance, and public awareness of health-related needs connected to aging, social connection, social determinants of health, and age-friendly approaches.
Position Summary
Tellegacy is seeking an Advisory Board Member with a background in social work, public health, nursing, nurse practitioner practice, medicine, rehabilitation therapy, behavioral health, aging services, or another related health profession.
This board member will help share awareness of health-related needs connected to Tellegacy’s mission through online community engagement, professional networks, thought leadership, and strategic guidance. The ideal candidate understands the importance of social connection, older adult well-being, health promotion, social determinants of health, and community-based approaches to care.
Candidates with academic publication experience, research involvement, program evaluation experience, or professional speaking/training experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance on Tellegacy’s health promotion, aging, social connection, and community engagement priorities.
- Help identify health-related needs that Tellegacy can address through education, awareness, programming, training, and partnerships.
- Participate in virtual board or advisory meetings.
- Share Tellegacy-related awareness, educational content, or community engagement opportunities through appropriate professional or online channels.
- Support public awareness around social isolation, loneliness, intergenerational connection, older adult dignity, and what matters most to individuals and communities.
- Offer insight on program development, evaluation, research opportunities, training topics, and community needs.
- Review or provide feedback on selected Tellegacy initiatives, publications, presentations, or educational materials when appropriate.
- Help strengthen relationships with healthcare, aging services, public health, academic, community, and nonprofit partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree, license, certification, or professional background in one or more of the following areas:
- Social Work
- Public Health
- Nursing or Nurse Practitioner
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Behavioral Health
- Gerontology
- Health Education
- Health Administration
- Counseling
- Nutrition or Dietetics
- Another related healthcare, therapy, or community health field
- Experience working with older adults, caregivers, healthcare teams, community organizations, students, or underserved populations.
- Interest in social isolation, loneliness, social determinants of health, age-friendly care, health equity, intergenerational engagement, workforce training, or community-based health promotion.
- Comfort engaging in online awareness-building through LinkedIn, webinars, community posts, professional networks, or virtual events.
- Strong communication skills and ability to represent Tellegacy professionally.
- Experience with academic writing, journal publications, research, program evaluation, conference presentations, or grant-supported projects is preferred but not required.
- Ability to think strategically, offer constructive feedback, and contribute to a collaborative advisory environment.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful healthcare, public health, social work, therapy, or aging-services professional who believes that human connection is central to well-being. This person understands that older adults deserve dignity, purpose, social connection, and opportunities to share what matters most in their lives.
This board member should be comfortable helping Tellegacy translate health-related needs into community awareness, educational messaging, practical partnerships, and research-informed opportunities.
