About the Role
As a Heavy Fleet Mechanic, you will serve as a vital technical expert responsible for ensuring the operational readiness and safety of a diverse range of diesel-powered vehicles and industrial equipment. You will drive fleet efficiency by performing complex diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs, while mentoring junior staff to uphold high standards of mechanical excellence.
Responsibilities-
Execute comprehensive mechanical and electrical repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines and material handling equipment to minimize downtime.

Perform precise diagnostic assessments using advanced tools to identify and resolve performance issues efficiently.

Manage tire maintenance, including mounting, dismounting, and servicing inflation systems to ensure road safety.

Utilize welding and cutting equipment to fabricate or repair structural components as required.

Prioritize daily service schedules to meet operational demands while maintaining accurate documentation of all repairs.

Operate class 8 tractors and other heavy machinery safely to facilitate testing and movement within the facility.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians to foster a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

3-5 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and fleet maintenance.

Valid D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification.

Proficiency in operating diagnostic software and hand tools.

Ability to interpret technical manuals and follow complex safety protocols.

Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Experience with heavy-duty electrical troubleshooting.
