American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down (IMCU) position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience in a high-volume hospital setting.

Work setting is an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) on unit 5J-Intermediate, a 16–10 bed step down unit

Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4

Heparin drip management is required

Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week

Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Block scheduling is generally not approved

Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience in a high-acuity, high-volume hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume facilities will not be considered

Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations

This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex, diverse, and high-volume cases
