Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Michigan Licensed Journeyman to join our dynamic construction team. This role is perfect for a dedicated professional who holds an active journeyman license in Michigan and has extensive experience in various aspects of construction, masonry, and renovation projects. As a licensed journeyman, you will be responsible for executing complex tasks with precision, ensuring safety standards are met, and contributing to high-quality project outcomes. Responsibilities
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and rebar installation to create durable foundations and structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project plans.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Execute masonry work including stucco, tile laying, plastering, and trim carpentry to enhance building aesthetics.
- Install metal stud framing, drywall, roofing components, and perform caulking for weatherproofing and insulation purposes.
- Assist with construction estimating by providing accurate material take-offs and labor assessments.
- Conduct renovation and restoration tasks with attention to detail while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects stay on schedule while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and accounted for.
Experience
- Valid Michigan journeyman license with proven experience in commercial or residential construction projects.
- Extensive hands-on experience with concrete finishing, masonry work, rebar installation, and form building.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings essential for precise execution of tasks.
- Skilled in operating power tools such as saws, drills, mixers, as well as heavy equipment like forklifts or cranes when necessary.
- Strong background in various trades including carpentry (frame and trim), roofing, stucco application, tile laying, plastering, welding, and metal stud framing.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely on construction sites while following OSHA guidelines and safety procedures.
- Experience with renovation projects involving restoration work or historic building updates is a plus.
