Job Summary
We’re hiring a reliable and experienced hotshot driver to operate a 1-ton dually truck with a 40ft gooseneck trailer. If you know the road, can handle common challenges, and take pride in delivering safely and on time we want to work with you. This position includes secured base pay, performance bonuses, and full dispatch support so you can focus on what you do best: driving.
Responsibilities
- Transport freight using a 40ft gooseneck trailer
- Complete thorough pre-trip inspections
- Secure cargo safely and efficiently
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers
- Address basic on-the-road issues such as minor repairs and inspections to reduce downtime.
- Follow DOT regulations and all safety protocols
- Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines
- Maintain accurate ELD logs (miles, fuel, hours, deliveries)
Mechanical Skills: We’re looking for a driver with basic mechanical knowledge, especially related to trucks and trailers. Ideally, not required but highly preferred should be able to handle minor repairs and maintenance such as:
- Able to check and change oil
- Diagnosing simple engine or brake issues
- Performing pre-trip inspections thoroughly
- Basic troubleshooting to avoid unnecessary downtime
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of hotshot or relevant trucking experience
- Able to inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot truck/trailer to stay road-ready (basic mechanical knowledge required, especially related to diesel trucks)
- Comfortable handling minor repairs such as flat tires, belts, and other common roadside issues
- Basic English speaking skills for compliance and safety
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle challenges independently
- Clean driving record
- CDL A Required
