Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee all accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Your expertise will help us streamline our financial operations, manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile accounts, and support our overall financial health.
Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle bookkeeping including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports with precision.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently while ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts regularly to maintain data integrity.
- Oversee payroll management using systems such as ADP or UltiPro, ensuring accurate processing of employee payments and tax filings.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards like SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
- Assist with budget preparation, financial analysis, and audit support to uphold compliance with governmental accounting standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Workday, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, ADP or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles along with governmental accounting practices when applicable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Demonstrated ability in technical accounting tasks such as journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for data entry and account reconciliation.
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and team collaboration.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Prior experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
