The YMCA School Age Child Care program is hiring a seasonal Lead Program Staff (18+) to support and guide engaging programs for children in grades K–5. This is a Monday–Friday role with no nights or weekends, offering a free YMCA membership, strong benefits, and professional growth opportunities.

Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Flexible shifts between 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- No evenings or weekends
What You’ll Do
As a Lead Program Staff, you will help lead daily operations and create a fun, safe, and engaging environment:
- Lead activities: arts & crafts, gym games, STEM, service learning, field trips
- Support and guide program staff on-site
- Assist Site Director with program planning, supervision, and daily operations
- Communicate with families through calendars, emails, and updates
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment
- Complete administrative tasks (attendance, registration, records, forms)
- Evaluate program success and suggest improvements
- Promote YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and equity
QualificationsRequired
- Age 18+
- At least 6 months of experience working with school-age children
- Willingness to complete background check and fingerprinting (MN/WI)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong skills in:
- Communication
- Organization
- Problem-solving
- Team leadership
- Passion for working with children in a recreational or youth development setting
- Commitment to working with diverse communities
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of child development, behavior guidance, or youth programming
- Experience leading or mentoring staff
- Experience in licensed child care or structured programs
