Position Overview
McCar Materials is hiring a Scale House Operator to support a high-production limestone quarry operation. This position is primarily responsible for accurately weighing trucks entering and leaving the quarry ensuring compliance and safety regulations. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to your success in this role along with being able to multi-task.
Wages start at $17 - $19/hr. depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Operate a truck scale indicator and weigh trucks accurately.
- Effectively and professionally communicate with internal/external customers
- Perform data entry tasks and generate sales tickets with speed and accuracy.
- Other administrative duties will be assigned.
- Hours are 5:30am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday with some Saturdays/Sundays
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience preferred
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Ability to work independent and as part of a team
- Display a professional and courteous attitude
- Some knowledge of weights and measures is helpful.
- Proficient with personal computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual preferred!
Physical Requirements
Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. May require sitting for extended periods of time.
The location is in a scale house at a Quarry and is subjected to dusty environment and use of a portable potty.
