Job Overview
This is a part-time, non-called position that requires an average of less than 20 hours worked per week that reports to the Director of Worship Arts
Responsibilities
· Accompanying the choir during rehearsals and performances. Choir typically rehearses on Thursdays from September through May and performs on one “service” a month. This could be an average weekend (one service on Saturday and two on Sunday) or a special holiday service. Choir usually performs on these holidays: Reformation weekend, Thanksgiving Eve (one service), Christmas Eve (two services), Good Friday (two services), and Easter (two services).
· Lead worship at all three weekend services twice a month (5pm Saturday, 9am and 10:30 on Sunday).
· Coordinates set-up and soundchecks for services that they are leading (typically one hour prior to service time)
· Support Vacation Bible School worship services when possible
· Accompany other musical ensembles for weekend services and coordinate rehearsals as necessary
· Provide input on song selection when needed
· Recording hours in church payroll system
Qualifications
· Conducts themself personally and professionally after the teachings of Jesus.
· Competency on organ and piano.
· Experience as a church musician (can lead hymns, knows music to play for preludes/postludes).
· Sight-reading ability a plus.
· Experience following a conductor and accompanying choirs.
· Leadership ability to run rehearsals when needed.
Pay: $425.00 - $550.00 per week
