Scheduler (Construction)
Scheduler (Construction)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules for industrial and renewable-energy construction projects. The Scheduler will work closely with project managers, EPC teams, planners, and field personnel to ensure realistic, resource-loaded timelines, identify critical path risks, and support on-time, on-budget project delivery. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Primavera P6, strong knowledge of construction sequencing and methods, and experience in industrial or renewable energy EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities
-
Develop, maintain, and update detailed, resource-loaded project schedules using Primavera P6, including baseline and progress updates.
-
Collaborate with Project Managers, planners, engineers, procurement, and field teams to gather input, set milestones, and integrate team schedules into a consolidated master schedule.
-
Perform critical path analysis, identify schedule risks and constraints, and recommend mitigation options to keep projects on track.
-
Monitor progress through schedule analysis, Earned Value Management (EVM) inputs, and progress reporting; produce weekly and monthly schedule reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
-
Manage schedule change control: evaluate requests, assess impacts, update forecasts, and document revisions with clear rationale and approval traceability.
-
Coordinate look-ahead schedules and short-term work sequencing with construction supervision to align resources, craft daily/weekly work plans, and resolve bottlenecks in the field.
-
Support risk workshops, delay analysis, and claims preparation by producing time-impact analyses, as-built schedule recovery plans, and forensic schedule reviews.
-
Ensure schedule integrity by maintaining coding standards, activity logic, calendars, constraints, WBS alignment, and cost/schedule integration where required.
-
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior schedulers and planners, promoting best practices in schedule development and P6 usage.
-
Contribute to project planning sessions, reviews, and post-project lessons-learned to improve scheduling processes and tools.
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Planning, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
-
Minimum 5 years experience as a Scheduler on construction projects, preferably within industrial and/or renewable energy sectors and EPC environments.
-
Proven advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 (baseline creation, resource leveling, progress updates, reporting) and common MS Office tools; experience with MS Project, Asta, or scheduling add-ons is a plus.
-
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, labor and equipment productivity, material lead times, and site logistics.
-
Experience with Earned Value Management, time-impact analysis, delay claims support, and schedule risk analysis.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present schedule status and risks to senior management and multidisciplinary teams.
-
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
-
Willingness to travel to project sites and work collaboratively in field environments; valid drivers license required.
-
Professional certifications such as PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), AACE planning certifications, or P6 certification are highly desirable.
