As a key member of our housing stability team, you will help neighbors secure and maintain safe, stable, and dignified housing. This position also has future opportunities for advancement.
Role Overview
As a Housing Stability Case Manager, you will support neighbors through all stages of housing stabilization—from transitioning out of homelessness into housing to maintaining long-term housing stability. The official job title is Housing Stability Coordinator (housing-focused case management role).
You will:
- Provide housing-focused case management to neighbors in our Housing Stability Program and those preparing to move into City Lights Village.
- Use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to help neighbors build independence, connect to services, and prevent returns to homelessness.
- Meet people where they are, build trust over time, and tailor support to each person’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
Support Dignified Transitions into Housing
- Assist neighbors experiencing homelessness in securing and moving into housing.
- Conduct basic needs and housing-readiness assessments before move-in.
- Coordinate move-in logistics and remove barriers to a successful transition.
- Identify and help establish wrap-around services (benefits, transportation, mental health, etc.) needed for housing stability.
- Develop and implement strategies that set neighbors up for success and reduce anxiety during move-out and move-in phases.
Promote Housing Stability (Case Management)
- Provide regular housing stability in-person and phone check-ins with housed neighbors.
- Develop and update basic housing stability or service plans with each neighbor.
- Identify and affirm areas where neighbors are thriving and making progress.
- Coach and support independent living skills (budgeting, communication with landlords, home care).
- Celebrate milestones (including birthdays and key achievements) as part of relationship-based support.
- Assist neighbors with maintenance requests and landlord relations, helping to resolve issues before they escalate.
- Connect neighbors to vital mental health services, healthcare providers, and other community resources.
- Identify early warning signs that housing stability is at risk and intervene quickly.
- Collaborate with the City Lights team to problem-solve and find creative solutions.
- Document all contacts, services, and outcomes accurately and on time in program records.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to act proactively.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize work, and comfortable adapting to changing needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse neighbors, landlords, and partners.
- Strong Google Workspace skills (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail) and solid time management.
- Alignment with City Lights’ Core Values and a commitment to treating every person with dignity, compassion, and respect.
- Passion for working with people experiencing homelessness or exiting homelessness into housing.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable personal vehicle to assist clients in the community (mileage reimbursed by City Lights).
- Current auto liability insurance.
Preferred
- Experience in case management, housing programs, social services, outreach, or behavioral health.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental health challenges, or substance use.
- Nonprofit or community-based organization experience.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily office-based in Tulsa, OK, with frequent off-site visits to neighbors’ homes and community partners.
- Frequently walking, standing, and sitting; occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving objects up to 25 pounds.
- Driving is required for home visits and community meetings; you must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $38,000–$42,000 annually, non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
