The Sanitation Crew member is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing all assigned areas such as manufacturing equipment, facilities, and common areas listed in the Master Sanitation Schedule. This includes washing and or sanitizing walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and other building features to comply with food production standards and requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize assigned areas.
- Must know SSOP and GMPs.
- Dissemble and reassemble equipment.
- Comply with applicable environment, health and safety rules, procedures, laws and accepted safe work practices.
- Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to the appropriate person.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Thinks analytically.
- Can add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide.
- Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Problem solver.
Education/Training Required
- Prior knowledge of proper sanitation procedures and chemicals (SSOP & GMP), but not required.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
- Stands for prolonged periods of time, walks and uses hands to finger, hand, or feel and reaches with hands and arms.
- Stoops, kneels, crouches, or drawls. Occasionally must climb or balance and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Exposures to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperature changes.
