Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Escrow Officer to join our team and facilitate smooth real estate transactions from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience. As per the position, the candidate is working alongside a large brokerage that currently has five open offices and hundreds of agents. The escrow office does not need its own "book of business"; however, it must provide excellent customer service with a strong knowledge of the Escrow industry. This position is ideal for a current Junior Escrow Officer looking to move up to an Officer running their own desk. We are also open to exploring the opportunity for an established escrow officer seeking more opportunities. Position offers salary plus commission and full benefits. We are a DFPI escrow company.
Duties
- Manage the entire escrow process for real estate transactions, including opening, processing, and closing escrow accounts.
- Conduct comprehensive title searches and review title records, public records, and legal descriptions to verify property ownership and identify potential issues.
- Prepare and review all necessary documentation, including deeds, easements, legal descriptions, and other real estate legal documents.
- Utilize real estate transaction management software and mapping tools like GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to organize and analyze property data effectively.
- Perform title review and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines while complying with relevant laws such as real estate law.
- Communicate proactively with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and attorneys to provide updates and clarify transaction details.
- Research public records and title history to resolve discrepancies or issues related to easements or rights-of-way that could impact the transaction.
- Oversee title processing activities including title searches, title insurance ordering, and final title review prior to closing.
- Coordinate with law offices when necessary for legal descriptions or complex documentation review.
- Ensure accurate recording of all transaction details in compliance with company policies and legal standards.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and title search procedures.
- Minimum of 5+ years of Escrow experience
- Ability to handle large volume of files
- Strong knowledge of RBJ
- Experience working with title records, public records research, and title processing is essential.
- Ability to interpret complex legal descriptions accurately and adhere strictly to underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Strong research skills for investigating property histories and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Attention to detail is critical for reviewing documents thoroughly while managing multiple transactions simultaneously.
Pay: $73,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
