About the Role
Campbell Ford is looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Counter Specialist to join our team in Niles, Michigan. In this role, you will be the backbone of our parts department, assisting retail customers, wholesale accounts, and our own service technicians in finding the exact components they need.

- The Ideal Candidate: You have a solid background specifically dealing with Ford OEM parts and catalogs. You know the systems and can hit the ground running.
- The Right Fit: If you don't have Ford experience but possess strong automotive parts experience from another brand, dealership, or aftermarket parts store (e.g., NAPA, AutoZone, O'Reilly), we still want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in customers, wholesale clients, and internal service technicians with parts identification and ordering.
- Utilize parts cataloging systems to accurately look up components.
- Maintain an organized inventory, handle incoming stock, and manage parts returns.
- Provide exceptional, friendly customer service over the phone and in person.
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum of 1–2 years of automotive parts experience (dealership or aftermarket).
- Preferred: Direct experience with Ford parts systems and cataloging.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn inventory management software quickly.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories through knowledgeable advice and excellent customer service.
- Manage inventory control by stocking, organizing, and maintaining parts to ensure availability for customer needs.
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems while handling cash and credit card payments securely.
- Collaborate with the service department to identify parts requirements for vehicle repairs and maintenance jobs.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical troubleshooting skills to recommend suitable parts or solutions.
- Maintain organized records of orders, returns, and inventory levels using inventory management software such as CMMS or Microsoft Excel.
- Engage in upselling opportunities by promoting relevant products, accessories, or maintenance packages to enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive parts management or dealership environments with a strong understanding of vehicle systems.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening abilities.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive repair processes, vehicle maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with retail sales processes, inventory control systems, POS operations, and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in order fulfillment.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Strong organizational skills combined with retail math proficiency to manage stock levels accurately.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics tools, CMMS software, Microsoft Excel, and marketing strategies is advantageous.
