Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Stocker to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. This role combines customer service and stocking responsibilities, ensuring that our shelves are well-stocked and our customers have a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a knack for retail sales, and the ability to handle cash transactions efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
- Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and displayed attractively for customers.
- Conduct product demonstrations to promote new items and encourage sales.
- Assist in merchandising efforts by creating appealing product displays that drive sales.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly, maintaining accuracy in cash handling and register operations.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Utilize basic math skills to assist with retail math calculations as needed during transactions or inventory checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and stockroom.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on communication and phone etiquette.
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Experience with stocking, merchandising, and conducting product demos is a plus.
