We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure all areas are hygienic, organized, and well-maintained. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain floors and surfaces at high standards of cleanliness.
- Conduct detailed sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, or painting as needed to support facility upkeep.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and manual handling activities to prevent injuries.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, supplies inventory, and safety inspections to ensure consistent facility maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers and various custodial tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following all chemical handling safety procedures.
- Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset when interacting with staff or visitors.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles is preferred; additional skills in residential painting or general maintenance are a plus.
