Environmental Resource Analysts, Inc. (ERA) is a family-owned, full-service environmental laboratory providing analytical testing to support compliance with EPA and other environmental regulations.
We are currently seeking motivated, dependable candidates for full-time, entry-level Laboratory Technician positions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in beginning a career in laboratory science and gaining hands-on experience in a professional environmental laboratory.
What You'll Do
Laboratory Technicians will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and will learn a variety of laboratory procedures, analytical techniques, safety practices, and quality-control requirements. No previous professional laboratory experience is required.
Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing samples for laboratory analysis
- Performing entry-level analytical procedures under established methods
- Operating and maintaining basic laboratory equipment
- Accurately documenting laboratory activities and results
- Following EPA methods, laboratory procedures, and quality-control requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace
- Assisting laboratory analysts and other team members as needed
All necessary training and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Current Openings
Toxicity & Inorganics Laboratory – Tuesday through Saturday
This position provides hands-on experience with environmental toxicity and inorganic testing. Opportunities to gain additional experience in chemistry, organic analysis, and microbiology may also be available.
Some additional weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required. We understand the importance of scheduling flexibility and work with employees whenever possible.
Organics Laboratory – Monday through Friday
We also have one full-time opening in our Organics Department with a traditional Monday-Friday schedule. This position provides hands-on training and experience with environmental organic laboratory testing and analytical procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional science coursework, college laboratory experience, or other science-related experience is preferred
- No professional laboratory experience required
- Dependable and able to follow detailed written procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a laboratory team
- Ability to follow laboratory safety and quality-control procedures
Candidates with coursework or experience in chemistry, biology, environmental science, microbiology, or related sciences are encouraged to apply.
