Duties
- Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, themes, and personalized touches using various piping, fondant, and icing techniques
- Prepare cakes for display and sale by ensuring they are visually appealing and meet quality standards
- Handle food preparation tasks including mixing, baking, and assembling cakes with precision and care
- Package finished products securely for delivery or customer pickup, maintaining presentation quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work station in compliance with food safety and handling regulations
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring supplies of decorating materials, ingredients, and packaging items
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing design options, taking custom orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or related culinary fields with a strong portfolio of decorated cakes
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Skilled in food preparation techniques including baking, icing, piping, and fondant work
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as mixers, knives, spatulas, and decorating tools
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and understanding customer needs
- Previous experience in food production or catering is highly desirable; restaurant experience is a plus
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for design and presentation
