We are looking for an experienced, reliable Chef who knows how to cook authentic Jamaican food to join and help lead our kitchen at our Jamaican carryout restaurant.
Our goal is to serve high-quality, authentic Jamaican food while providing fast and consistent service to our customers.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must:
- Have at least 2 years of professional cooking experience.
- Have experience preparing authentic Jamaican cuisine.
- Be knowledgeable about traditional Jamaican flavors, seasonings, cooking methods, and dishes.
- Be able to prepare dishes such as jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtails, brown stew chicken, rice and peas, cabbage, and other traditional Jamaican foods.
- Be reliable and on time for every scheduled shift.
- Have reliable transportation and be able to consistently arrive at work on time.
- Be respectful, professional, and able to work well with coworkers and management.
- Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced carryout and takeout restaurant environment.
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation with every dish.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and stocked.
- Help manage inventory and minimize unnecessary food waste.
- Be able to handle multiple orders while maintaining speed and quality.
Position Details
- Shifts are approximately 10 hours.
- Pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
- We are open to discussing either an hourly rate or salary, depending on the candidate and position arrangement.
- Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
