Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals in various settings, including long-term care (LTC) facilities and hospitals, to provide exceptional patient service and care. Your expertise in medication administration, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques will be essential in supporting our mission to enhance patient health outcomes.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Perform intake processes for new patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected and documented.
- Utilize aseptic techniques for IV infusion preparation and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed, including dosage and administration details.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in acute care settings.
- Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices to enhance service quality.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is required; experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is preferred.
- Critical care experience is a plus, particularly related to IV infusion and acute care environments.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent patient service while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
