Job Summary
Pilcher Hamilton is seeking a dependable Maintenance Helper to support the maintenance team in keeping manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and work areas operating safely and efficiently. This entry-level support role assists with preventive maintenance, basic repairs, troubleshooting, parts handling, housekeeping, and other tasks that help minimize downtime and support production needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist maintenance technicians with routine preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, repairs, and installations.
· Help identify and report mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or facility-related concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor or appropriate team member.
· Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing filters, cleaning equipment, lubricating parts, organizing tools, and assisting with minor repairs.
· Support safe and efficient manufacturing operations by helping reduce downtime and responding promptly to maintenance needs.
· Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including maintenance shop areas, equipment spaces, storage areas, and production support zones.
· Retrieve, stage, and organize tools, parts, supplies, and materials needed for maintenance work.
· Assist with moving, setting up, or securing equipment, parts, and materials as directed.
· Follow all company safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and housekeeping standards.
· Communicate clearly with maintenance, production, warehouse, and supervisory personnel regarding work status, equipment concerns, and safety issues.
· Perform other related duties as assigned to support plant operations and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance practices.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
· Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
· Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general shop practices preferred.
· Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, construction, or mechanical work is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
· Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, kneel, and work around manufacturing equipment for extended periods.
· Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
· May be required to work in areas with noise, heat, moving equipment, chemicals, dust, or other typical manufacturing conditions.
· Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
Schedule and Employment Details
This is a full-time, first-shift manufacturing support position. Overtime requirements, pay rate, and benefits should be confirmed by Pilcher Hamilton based on business needs and company policy.
