Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will be essential to our success. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit
- Deliver goods to various locations efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and communication
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Manage route driving responsibilities, including planning optimal paths and adhering to delivery schedules
- Handle specialized trailers such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks as required for specific deliveries
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial driving environments
- Meet FMCSA requirements, including physical, pre-employment drug screening and randoms
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual and automatic transmission trucks safely and efficiently
- Safeland/PEC or similar
- Experience with diverse truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly preferred
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Communicate with managers and other staff that direct you on loads
- Can work an Apple iPhone apps, Microsoft email, and photo app
- Understands ELD may be required
- Excellent route planning skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and punctuality
- Physical ability to chain and tarp loads
