Position: Financial Controller
Location: West Palm Beach, FL 33407
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee accounting operations for a privately held healthcare organization operating multiple programs and locations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the monthly close, financial reporting, consolidation, cash management, budgeting, internal controls, and accounting operations across a multi-entity organization. The Controller will work closely with executive leadership and provide financial insight to support day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly close and prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements, including intercompany eliminations
- Maintain cost allocation methodologies across service lines and entities
- Perform and oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee revenue cycle accounting, including revenue recognition, contractual allowances, reserves, and cash posting
- Track accounts receivable aging, collections, and denials.
- Analyze payer mix and reimbursement metrics and identify potential financial issues
- Manage daily cash across multiple entities and bank accounts
- Maintain rolling cash forecasts
- Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and disbursement controls
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts by location and service line
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and operating KPIs
- Establish and improve internal accounting controls and processes
- Coordinate with external CPA firms on tax filings and tax planning
- Oversee payroll accounting, benefits accruals, and workers' compensation audits
- Maintain fixed asset, lease, and debt schedules
- Supervise bookkeeping and accounts payable personnel
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial controls
Requirements:
- Active CPA license or eligibility for reciprocity
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role
- Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated experience building and improving accounting processes and controls
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare accounting experience
- Experience with commercial payer reimbursement and out-of-network billing
- Public accounting experience followed by industry accounting experience
- QuickBooks experience
- Healthcare EMR/accounting system experience

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per hour
