Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled 1st Shift Maintenance Technician (M-F), to join our manufacturing facility team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment and facility systems during the first shift. As a key contributor, you will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of machinery and systems, supporting our commitment to operational excellence. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial electrician experience to diagnose electrical issues and implement solutions.
- Operate precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to assess equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Conduct repairs involving welding, HVAC/R systems, low voltage electrical components, and high voltage circuits as needed.
- Assist with field service tasks, including working on scissor lifts or other industrial equipment to access hard-to-reach areas.
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial maintenance, including working with high voltage and low voltage systems safely.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze equipment failures and develop long-term solutions that improve reliability.
- Support manufacturing operations by providing timely maintenance support that minimizes production disruptions.
Experience
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with schematics, technical sales understanding is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial electrician tasks, HVAC/R systems, welding, hydraulics, and low/high voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to industrial maintenance including working at heights or on elevated platforms like scissor lifts.
- Military background or field service experience is advantageous due to discipline and technical training background.
