HR & Culture Manager

Full-Time | On-Site with Limited Day Travel
PSC Crane & Rigging is seeking an experienced HR & Culture Manager to help lead and strengthen our HR practices, team member relations, compliance, culture, and people operations as we continue to grow.
This role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who can balance sound HR judgment, practical business partnership, compliance, and team member support while staying grounded in PSC’s family-owned, relationship-driven culture.
The HR & Culture Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and a credible resource to team members. This position will support HR strategy, team member relations, manager coaching, HR operations, policy administration, benefits and leave processes, recruiting and onboarding partnership, labor relations, workforce planning, and team member experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with company leaders to support HR strategy, workforce planning, team member relations, compliance, and culture-building efforts.
- Provide guidance on team member relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, documentation, performance concerns, and workplace communication.
- Coach managers on accountability, communication, documentation, policy application, and practical leadership support.
- Support recruiting, role definition, candidate expectations, onboarding practices, and workforce planning.
- Help strengthen onboarding and orientation so new team members understand expectations, safety, accountability, and the PSC way of working.
- Lead and improve core HR operations, including policies, procedures, records, reporting, documentation, HR workflows, and compliance practices.
- Administer or oversee benefits, workers’ compensation coordination, PTO, leave-related processes, and related team member support.
- Support HRIS implementation, administration, reporting, and process improvement.
- Partner with leaders on performance management, development planning, leadership support, and people-process improvements.
- Work professionally with union representatives and leaders in support of productive labor-management relationships.
- Help leaders navigate collective bargaining agreement expectations with consistency, respect, and sound judgment.
- Support PSC’s safety culture through aligned communication, documentation, coaching, and day-to-day people practices.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring strong HR judgment, practical leadership, clear communication, and the ability to support leaders and team members in an operationally driven environment. This person should be comfortable balancing compliance, business needs, manager accountability, and team member support while building trust across the organization.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in human resources, people leadership, operations leadership, or a closely related role.
- Demonstrated experience serving as an HR partner to leaders, managers, and team members.
- Strong team member relations experience, including investigations, coaching, corrective action, documentation, and conflict resolution.
- Experience supporting HR operations, compliance, benefits administration, leave processes, onboarding, recruiting partnership, and people-process improvement.
- Strong understanding of employment practices, HR documentation, policy administration, wage and hour considerations, and compliance expectations.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and HR technology.
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to provide clear, practical recommendations.
- Experience supporting leaders in an operational, field-driven, skilled trades, construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or transportation environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with unions, collective bargaining agreements, and labor-management relationships is strongly preferred.
- Experience using behavioral assessment tools, such as Predictive Index, is preferred.
Education and Certifications
- Degree in human resources, business, operations, leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be considered.
- HR certification preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This role will work primarily from PSC’s Piqua, Ohio location, with regular interaction across field and operational settings. Limited day travel between PSC locations may be required during standard work hours.
This position requires regular availability during standard business hours, with occasional flexibility outside normal hours when needed to support time-sensitive HR matters, operational priorities, team member relations, or cross-location business needs.
