Position Summary: Provide routine, personal healthcare, such as bathing, dressing, or grooming to the elderly living in the facility
- Execute all home health aide duties that are highlighted in the plan of care.
- Ensure that dressings changed as needed
- Direct residents in simple prescribed exercises and in the use of braces or artificial limbs.
- Maintain records of resident care, condition, progress, and problems in order to report and discuss observations with a supervisor or case manager.
- Provide residents with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs and with dressing and grooming.
- Change bed linens, wash and iron patients' laundry, and clean patients' quarters.
- Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to patients to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
- Perform a variety of duties as requested by resident, such as obtaining household supplies or other supplies that the resident might need by informing the appropriate staff member.
- Assist residents during meal time and encourage that the resident follow their prescribed diet.
- Provide residents and families with emotional support as needed.
- Collects routine specimens.
- Obtains resident’s weight.
- Cares for male external catheter. Assists with the emptying of indwelling catheter care bag.
- Assists the self-directing consumer with use of oxygen equipment.
- Completes all other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.'
