Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene compliance
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, or assembling ingredients under supervision
- Support the kitchen team with bussing tables and clearing plates during service periods
- Handle heavy lifting of pots, pans, and supplies safely using proper manual handling techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines
- Support overall kitchen operations by ensuring dishwashing stations are stocked and organized for efficiency
Experience
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable, especially in fast-paced environments
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and proper dishwashing techniques
- Experience with food preparation, catering, or banquet service is a plus
- Knowledge of manual handling practices for heavy or bulky items to ensure safety
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food handling standards are advantageous
- Prior kitchen or hotel experience can enhance your ability to thrive in this role
