Role Overview
We are an early-stage startup building the next-generation marketplace for hourly venue rentals. We connect creative professionals, event planners, and companies with unique spaces for productions, meetings, and events.We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Business Development Manager on a 1099 contractor basis. Your primary mission is to expand our marketplace footprint by sourcing top-tier properties, pitching our platform to space owners, and successfully onboarding them to our website. This is a freelance, performance-driven role combining local sales, digital prospecting, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Sourcing: Identify unique local spaces (studios, lofts, rooftops, historic homes, warehouses) via cold outreach, social media, and field research.
- Host Pitching & Acquisition: Initiate contact with property owners, gallery managers, and commercial real estate hosts to articulate the revenue value of our platform.
- Onboarding Success: Guide new hosts through the registration process, assist with listing optimization (pricing, photos, descriptions), and ensure their profiles meet platform quality standards.
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong ongoing relationships with power hosts who manage multiple properties.
- Market Outreach: Act as the local face of our brand, networking within creative, real estate, and hospitality circles to build a strong pipeline.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in business development, real estate, venue management, or tech sales.
- Hustle Mentality: Exceptionally comfortable with heavy cold outreach (email, phone, Instagram DM) and navigating objections.
- Communication: Elite verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly with premium property owners.
- Independence: Self-motivated 1099 contractor capable of managing their own pipeline, schedule, and sourcing strategies.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce), digital communication tools, and online marketplace platforms.
Contract Structure & Compensation
- Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor.
- Schedule: Flexible/Self-directed hours (Expected average of 20–40 hours per week depending on campaign goals).
- Compensation: Competitive base hourly rate plus an aggressive, performance-based commission/bonus structure tied directly to live, approved venue targets (On-Target Earnings detailed upon application).
- Expenses: Pre-approved travel and mileage reimbursement for local site visits and venue onboarding photography.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
