The Program Specialist at the Center for Child Counseling is responsible for the delivery of education and prevention programs, such as SNAP, Stay KidSafe, Feelings and Coping Curriculum, Psychoeducational Groups, Workshops and Mental Health Consultations to the community and partner sites. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to promote playful, healthful, and hopeful living for children, families, and communities. The Program Specialist will work closely with the Supervisor, Senior Program Specialist and the team to promote engagement with partner agencies/schools and implement prevention and education services.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Completing data entry and administrative tasks.
- Complete data reporting requirements in all relevant systems, including Web Author, FL Network and Share Poing in a timely manner.
- Promote engagement with partner sites/schools.
- Translate agency tip sheets/trainings into other languages (if applicable).
- Ensure materials are prepared for trainings, psychoeducational and SNAP groups, Mental Health Consultations, SIS, Classroom Curriculum, and KidSafe.
- Prepare technology required for delivering virtual groups, trainings, and services.
- Deliver 25 hours of direct service, including SNAP (1 or 2 groups/evenings), Feelings and Coping Curriculum, Stay KidSafe, psychoeducational groups, SIS, mental health consultations and workshops/groups.
- Deliver Stay KidSafe and/or KidSafe Espanyol and other programs to schools, other agencies, and community partners.
- Facilitate live community workshops (in-person and via Zoom).
- Facilitate SNAP® groups while maintaining fidelity to the model.
- Facilitate SNAP® in Schools curriculum in 13-week cycles as assigned;
- Participate in pre-briefing and de-briefing meetings weekly with other SNAP® Team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field is preferred
- Any experience/training in providing SNAP Program preferred.
- A minimum of one year working with culturally diverse children and families.
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish/Creole) is highly valued.
- Experience with structured groups and parent/professional education groups/trainings is preferred.
- Knowledge of parent education, parent-child relationships, and individual, family, and community-level risk factors (e.g., poverty, homelessness, maternal depression, domestic violence, substance abuse, teen parenthood).
- Knowledge of child development and developmental stages (0-17)
- Flexible schedule evenings and weekends - will work min 2 evenings per week to assist with groups/trainings/events
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Proficient in Zoom, Web Author
