Direct hire role for a leading Southern California healthcare and senior living organization is seeking an experienced, results-driven Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee the billing, follow-up, and denial management operations.
Reporting directly to the Director of Accounts Receivable, you will manage the daily business office systems, lead a dedicated fiscal team, and implement process improvements to ensure financial, productivity, and quality goals are met.
Major Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable Operations: Supervise and manage the organization's AR and business office systems. Oversee follow-up and denial management operations to meet all financial and productivity standards.
- Performance Management & Reporting: Utilize reporting and analytics to track key metrics, identify trends, and pinpoint process improvement opportunities. Set team goals and provide regular performance feedback to executive leadership.
- Training & Staff Development: Coach, mentor, and foster professional growth within the AR team. Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs, onboard new staff, and implement ongoing education regarding industry updates and system protocols.
- Compliance & Customer Service: Maintain policies and practices that comply with all federal, state, and industry regulations. Deliver superior customer service to residents, families, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; basic accounting coursework or a related degree is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of healthcare revenue cycle supervisory or management experience is required. Proven track record of building and leading effective AR follow-up and denial management teams with measurable results.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) medical insurance billing and follow-up procedures, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal Managed Care, HMO, PPO, and indemnity plans.
- Technical Skills: Experience with skilled nursing facility billing systems is required (MatrixCare software experience is a major plus). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and verbal/written communication skills.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $115,000 - $122,000 per year (Depending on experience)
