Job Description:
As an Image Quality / Camera Tuning Engineer, you will dive into the algorithms in an ISP and develop a tuning methodology to make the most of the ISP. You will also characterize the image sensor for the ISP to adaptively change the tuning setting. You will be responsible for final assessment of the image quality/optimization to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in image and signal processing.
- Experience in hands-on image quality tuning of camera modules and ISPs.
- Experience tuning, testing, and reviewing consumer camera image quality including 3A, color correction, tone mapping, gamma, noise reduction, stabilization, etc.
- Experience performing IQ characterization capture and analysis such as black level correction, dead pixel, noise, MTF, AWB, autofocus, color characterization and more.
- Must have a thorough understanding of various platform specific camera tuning software.
- Experience with image quality tuning tools and assessment software.
- Advantage: experience with NVIDIA, Qualcomm, ARM, NXP, Texas Instruments, Mediatek ISPs
Responsibilities:
- Tune image and video processing pipelines
- Work with external vendors and internal testing groups to optimize camera performance
- Characterize image sensors across various ISPs/platform
- Establish tuning flow and provide tuning guides
