JOB SUMMARY
The Air/Ocean Import Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing international import shipments from the arriving Airport/Gateway to our CFS. This role ensures compliance with customs regulations, provides exceptional customer service, and maintains accurate shipment documentation while communicating effectively with customers, carriers, and government agencies.
ACT2 Services is looking for a Part Time Specialist for our Houston location.
Pay: $22.00 / Hour
Part Time position M-F 8am to 1pm - 5hrs a day and 5 days a week.
Import Operations
- Coordinate and manage international air and ocean import shipments from booking through release from CFS.
- Process Arrival Notices timely
- Monitor shipment status and provide proactive updates to customers.
- Update CMS with cargo release, trucking DO and process warehouse release, including payments.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into cargo management systems (CMS).
Customs Compliance
- Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable import regulations.
- Assist customers with import compliance questions and documentation requirements.
- Maintain records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain G.O Records
- Maintain weekly Warehouse inventory to match CMS
Customer Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any Import related questions.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, customs clearance, and delivery schedules if applicable.
- Resolve shipment issues, delays, and exceptions in a professional and timely manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas agents.
Must Have: Customer Service, basic airline cargo knowledge, basic customs 1F, 1C
