Job Description
Harmony House Brainerd, a branch of Horizon Health, Inc., is seeking a compassionate and reliable Resident Caregiver (RCG) to join our team. We provide individualized care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, focusing on assisted living, memory care, and community-based services.
This position is a part-time AM (morning) role, ideal for individuals looking for daytime hours while making a meaningful impact.
As an RCG, you will support residents with daily living activities, promote independence, and enhance overall quality of life in a supportive, team-focused environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor resident health and report changes or concerns to nursing staff
- Administer medications according to established protocols and safety guidelines
- Provide support for residents with dementia and memory care needs using appropriate behavioral techniques
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
- Document care and resident updates accurately in the electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Work collaboratively with the care team to support individualized care plans
- Cook, clean and do laundry
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or similar setting preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, and memory support strategies
- Ability to respond to emergencies and perform basic first aid
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral needs preferred
- Competency in vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and general caregiving
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach
