Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Barista Shift Leader to join our dynamic café team! In this pivotal role, you will lead daily operations during your shift, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient beverage and food preparation, and smooth team coordination. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily café operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Lead by example in preparing high-quality coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages using various equipment such as espresso machines and blenders.
- Manage retail sales transactions with precision using POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS, including processing cash and card payments.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues promptly.
- Supervise team members in food handling, beverage service, cleaning duties, and food safety compliance to maintain health standards.
- Assist in training new staff on food preparation, POS operation, cash handling, and customer service protocols.
- Ensure the café remains clean, organized, and stocked by monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers as needed.
- Support the implementation of safety procedures and food safety regulations to create a secure environment for staff and guests.
- Handle cash register operations accurately during busy periods while maintaining a friendly attitude.
- Promote teamwork by communicating clearly with staff members to meet sales goals and deliver memorable guest experiences.
Experience
- Previous barista experience with a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques and beverage service.
- Proven leadership skills or supervisory experience in a retail or food service environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred.
- Experience in retail sales transactions, cashiering, or cash handling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures within the food industry.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy shifts.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for cash reconciliation, retail math calculations, and inventory management.
