Position Summary
Show Me Ethanol is seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our alcohol production facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and improving the electrical and instrumentation systems that support plant operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, supporting operational excellence, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
This is a full-time, non-exempt day shift position with on-call responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities1. Safe and Reliable Execution of Preventive, Predictive, and Corrective Maintenance
- Execute scheduled maintenance activities on electrical and instrumentation assets.
- Perform inspections, testing, calibration, and condition-based maintenance activities.
- Identify and address developing equipment issues before failures occur.
- Support plant reliability and uptime through effective maintenance practices.
2. Effective Troubleshooting and Repair of Electrical and Instrumentation Failures
- Diagnose and repair electrical, instrumentation, control system, and process-related issues.
- Respond to equipment failures and production interruptions in a safe and timely manner.
- Support root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to restore equipment performance.
3. Quality Workmanship and Standards-Compliant Installations
- Install, modify, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements.
- Ensure all work meets quality expectations and supports long-term equipment reliability.
- Participate in equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain organized and professional work practices in all maintenance activities.
4. Accurate Maintenance Documentation and CMMS Updates
- Complete work orders, inspection records, calibration records, and maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain equipment history and asset information within the plant maintenance management system.
- Provide clear documentation of troubleshooting activities, repairs performed, and follow-up recommendations.
- Support maintenance planning through accurate reporting of equipment conditions and repair needs.
5. Safe Work Practices and Participation in Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrate commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, and process safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Actively contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in an industrial manufacturing environment that includes exposure to operating process equipment, heights, confined spaces, noise, dust, chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and varying temperatures.
The successful candidate must be able to safely work throughout an operating production facility while wearing required personal protective equipment.
