Crooker Construction is looking for a Crusher Foreperson to join our team. The primary focus will be to plan, coordinate, and supervise the entire crushing operation lifecycle in the Topsham yard. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to; working with the team to set and achieve production goals, creating and implementing a preventative maintenance program, and ensure daily operations are aligned with the material needs of internal projects as well as external sales needs.
The selected individual will report to the Aggregate Manager and will work very closely with the quality control team and field operations to understand current and future material needs so inventory levels can be properly managed.
The selected individual must have a strong working knowledge of construction materials, the crushing and screening processes, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), and the blasting process. Previous experience working at a crushing/screening facility is required. Previous experience supervising employees is preferred. This is a full-time, year-round position.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong verbal, written, and public speaking communication skills
- Experience working with aggregates or at a crushing and screening facility
- Knowledge of aggregate materials and crushing/screening methods is necessary
- Working knowledge of material gradations
- Must be able to lead a team to stay on task to meet deadlines
- Must have strong working knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and Maine DEP regulations for pits and quarries
- Must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to assist other crew members
- Proficient with Microsoft office and similar software programs
- Must be willing to work the necessary schedule which may include long hours, nights, and/or weekends
- Must have a valid driver's license. CDL license is a plus.
