Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic 1s & 2s Toddler Childcare Teacher to inspire young learners during their crucial early years. In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment tailored specifically for toddlers aged one to two years old. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early childhood development, literacy education, and social skills.
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence among toddlers.
- Transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and scheduled activities.
- Engage children in activities that support physical development, including teaching basic motor skills and movement exercises.
- Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies to foster cooperation and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with families to share progress updates, discuss individual needs, and support ongoing developmental goals.
- Incorporate principles of special education and early intervention when working with children who require additional support.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, developmental milestones, and any incidents or observations relevant to each child's welfare.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience in toddler care, classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development.
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies suitable for early learners.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists such as speech therapists or special educators.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques tailored for young children to promote positive social interactions.
- Experience with standardized testing or assessments related to early childhood progress is a plus.
- Competence in classroom experience including daycare or preschool settings; private school experience is advantageous.
- Skills in teaching physical education activities that support gross motor skills development.
