Position Summary: The Research Site Manager manages and runs the operations of a large dermatology research center and works with the Medical Director and Operations Leadership to set the tone, culture, leadership philosophy and business and career growth of the employees. This position reports to the Director of Research, and leads in the growth of the practice, through a focused approach to sales performance, growth, and leadership of the organization.
Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership: Lead site startup, day-to-day execution of clinical trials, and establish efficient standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Staff Management: Hire, onboard, train, and evaluate the performance of interdisciplinary research teams.

Personnel Management: Sets the tone and guides the workplace culture. Creates an environment where employees feel seen, heard and celebrated. Ensures effective coordination of staff efforts, provides support and assistance to supervisors, oversees supervision and training of practice staff, encourages optimal performance, and maintains compliance with standardized operating procedures and governmental regulations.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all trials adhere to strict Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and ethical guidelines.

Financial & Enrollment Growth: Monitor enrollment metrics to meet trial accrual goals, handle trial budgets, and drive strategic site growth.

Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary liaison between Principal Investigators (PIs), sponsors, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
- Quality Assurance: Manage documentation, prepare the site for audits or monitoring visits, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when needed.

Communication with Physicians: Guide, lead and directly serve physicians. Provides ongoing and timely communication to the Medical Director regarding issues that need to be addressed regarding the practice. Works as a team member with physicians to address physician concerns and find solutions.

Strategic Planning and Practice Development: Supports, drives and helps lead with the PDP corporate office and marketing department to assist in identifying

opportunities for practice growth and revenue diversification. Monitor developments in the local market and provide recommendations regarding appropriate responses and strategies and ensure implementation of planning initiatives.

Works closely with marketing to ensure service recovery and patient satisfaction.

Responsible for resolving and instituting improved processes for patient concerns in a timely manner.

Issue tackling and problem solving for internal, people, and operations issues.

Expert who feels personally drawn to coaching team for all areas of practice and a focus on generating revenue, customer service, workplace environment and maintaining a patient database.

Responsible for supporting employees in the areas of training and development, including completing employee annual performance reviews and monthly employee 1:1s to support employee retention and professional development.
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, life sciences, or a related field preferred.
-
Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) are strongly preferred.
Qualifications/Experience:
-
10+ years in clinical research, with at least 2-3 years in a direct leadership or supervisory capacity.
-
In-depth knowledge of FDA/GCP guidelines, protocol comprehension, and excellent problem-solving, budgeting, and conflict-resolution skills.

Knowledge of managing and supporting P&L’s,
-
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory issues pertaining to group practice.

Direct leadership, management and culture building experience for a team of CRC, RA, and front office.

Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies to ensure patient recruitment.
-
Understanding of the supervision and implementation of research, procedures, accreditation, and guidelines.
-
Direct management experience in a high volume multi-PI site.
-
Previous operational management supervision of all aspects of direct reports (including payroll, timecards, annual reviews, disciplinary actions, overtime etc.)

Understanding and implementation of the skills necessary for consistently providing “white glove service” to both patients and practice providers, through excellent communication and leadership skills.

Consistent record of achieving and maintaining organization’s financial revenue goals, with direct understanding and implementation of sales and service objectives to overall rapid growth of an organization.
