At Commercial Lawn & Landscape we create and maintain beautiful, vibrant outdoor spaces for our commercial clients. We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Plant Care Specialist to join our team to tend to our seasonal annuals and perennial garden beds. If you have a green thumb and a keen eye for detail, we’d love to have you on the team!The Role:As our Plant Care Specialist, you will be responsible for the health, vitality, and aesthetic appeal of our clients' flowering beds, containers, and gardens. You will work closely with our lead landscapers to ensure our plant installations thrive throughout the season. Key Responsibilities:
- Planting & Design: Assist with the installation, arrangement, and layout of seasonal annuals and perennials.
- Garden Maintenance: Perform regular deadheading, weeding, pruning, and cultivating of garden beds.
- Watering & Fertilizing: Monitor soil moisture and implement proper watering and fertilization schedules for varying plant types.
- Pest & Disease Management: Identify common plant diseases and insect issues, applying organic or chemical treatments as directed.
- Site Cleanup: Ensure all garden beds and surrounding hardscapes are left tidy, clean, and debris-free.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum [1-2] years of hands-on experience in gardening, horticulture, or professional landscaping.
- Plant Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Central New York plant zones, perennial varieties, and annual flower care.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain), bend, kneel, and lift up to [30-50] lbs.
- Reliability: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to job sites in and around the Cicero/Syracuse area.
- Attention to Detail: A passion for plants and a meticulous eye for aesthetics and plant health.
