About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist (Co-Occurring) to join our Mental Health Urgent Care program in Salem County, NJ. This role provides immediate behavioral health support to adults experiencing emotional distress and mental health symptoms. As part of our team, you will conduct intake assessments, deliver individual and group therapy, and develop treatment plans that help clients stabilize and connect with appropriate levels of care.
Program Overview
Healthcare Commons’ Mental Health Urgent Care program offers short-term counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and referrals to ongoing services. Designed for individuals in crisis who may not require hospitalization, the program provides tailored, immediate care with the goal of stabilization and linkage to continued support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
- Provide individual and group therapy addressing psycho-social issues
- Assist with co-occurring stabilization for clients, including support with medication needs to enhance daily quality of life
- Utilize assessments and evidence-based modalities to ensure the most successful outcomes for each client
- Ensure proper service linkage and continuity of care when clients exit the 30-day program
- Collaborate with psychiatric providers, case managers, and other team members to support client recovery
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a recognized mental health discipline required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness
- LAC, LSW, LPC, or LCSW required
- Direct experience with substance abuse treatment required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong clinical perspective with proven ability to develop effective treatment plans
- Ability to engage in a team-based, strength-focused approach with colleagues and clients
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Compensation & Schedule - Base Rate: $26.44 – $28.85 per hour, depending on certification/licensure - $55,000 - $60,000
- Bilingual Rate: Additional $1.25 per hour for Spanish proficiency
- Schedule: Primarily day shifts, with some evening and weekend availability required
