Company: The Skin Center (TSC) is a rapidly growing medical aesthetics business headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. The company specializes in surgical and non-surgical cosmetic services across multiple locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan. Founded over 40 years ago, TSC has established itself as a regional market leader in the Mid-Atlantic and is looking for high-quality individuals to join its team.
Position: TSC is seeking a full-time surgical RN. The RN is a member of the surgical team and reports to the company's physician. This role handles all aspects of patient care including pre-operative, OR, recovery and post-operative.
Qualifications:
- Licensed in the state as an RN and BLS/ACLS certified
- 2 years critical care, PACU/SICU/ICU and or trauma experience preferred
- 2 years of surgical OR experience a plus
- Cosmetic surgery and / or infection control experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to build strong rapport with patients
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including pre-operative preparation, intra-office procedural support, and post-operative recovery for surgical patients.
- Deliver comprehensive post-operative nursing care for surgical patients, including wound evaluation and management, coordination of follow-up care, patient education, and timely communication with patients and the surgical team.
- Monitor and care for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), assessing recovery status and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Prepare and administer medications, local anesthetic injections, IVs
- Educate patients and caregivers on pre- and post-operative instructions, wound care, medications, activity restrictions, and recovery expectations.
- Collaborate closely with surgeon and team members to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
