Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Support food preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperature
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment, ideally as a line cook or culinary assistant
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Experience with meal preparation, food industry operations, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude toward serving guests
